NVIDIA is giving away the first-ever NVIDIA GPU, the GeForce 256 graphics card signed by the CEO himself. Four more iconic GPUs are on the way.
NVIDIA GeForce Posts GeForce 256 GPU Box Signed by Jensen Huang, Announces a Total of 5 Classic GPUs for a Giveaway Before CES Commences
Finding the original and the first-ever NVIDIA GPU is one of the most challenging tasks, but there is still hope with the GeForce Greats event. Today, the company announced that it would give away the first GeForce GPU to its fans who enter the GeForce Greats competition.
In the latest X post, NVIDIA announced 5 ‘classic’ NVIDIA GPUs for the giveaway, the first of which is the GeForce 256. There will be four more in the coming days and these will be the most popular and probably the best ones NVIDIA has ever launched. While NVIDIA hasn’t named these GPUs, we will soon find out that each GPU will be launched daily.
We have four days left before NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen’s CES opening keynote. Hence, four GPUs are left for giveaway. If you remember, the GeForce 256 is also among the contents of the first NVIDIA mystery box, i.e., the Diablo mystery box, which NVIDIA announced a few days ago. That edition is also signed by Jensen Huang.
We believe the next four GPUs might include cards like the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which is arguably the best-ever GPU NVIDIA launched in 2017. I still own that card, installed in my rig, but there could even be newer GPUs scheduled for giveaway in the coming days.
To win the GeForce 256 card, one has to comment #GeForceGreats in NVIDIA’s thread on X. This is pretty similar to winning the mystery boxes, but in this case, users are required to share their ‘core’ game memories in the comments, which will make them eligible to win some excellent stuff, including two GPUs, collector’s editions of iconic games, as well as some exclusive items.

If you don’t want to miss any chances, you may follow the NVIDIA GeForce account on X to get notified of their latest posts for these giveaways. That said, NVIDIA will also host a 48-hour gaming marathon, which will start on the 4th of January and will end on the 6th, followed by NVIDIA’s CES presentation where the GeForce RTX 50 series cards will be announced.
